The Columbia University Alumni Association (Hong Kong) Limited Annual General Meeting (CUAAHK AGM) will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 6:30pm in the Hong Kong Club (hosted by Edith Shih). This year, we are honoured to have The Honourable Bernard Charnwut Chan, Convenor of Hong Kong’s Executive Council, as our Guest of Honour.
Keynote Speaker: The Honourable Bernard Charnwut Chan
The Honourable Bernard Charnwut Chan is a deputy to the National People’s Congress of China and Convenor of Hong Kong’s Executive Council. He is a non-official member of Hong Kong’s Executive Council (2004-09 and from 2012). He is also a former member of Hong Kong’s Legislative Council (1998-2008).
A graduate of Pomona College in California, he is the President of Asia Financial Holdings and Asia Insurance. He is Chairman of the Hong Kong – Thailand Business Council and an advisor to Bangkok Bank (China) Co. Ltd. He sits on the boards of several local and overseas companies in the financial services, utilities and manufacturing sectors. He also joined the governing board of the Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund in Hong Kong.
He was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 2002, and a Commander (3rd Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand in 2004. In 2006, he was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong SAR Government. You may find his full profile here.

Dress Code: Business attire, no denim clothing, shorts shirts without collar, sports shoes, shoes with white rubber sole or slippers allowed at the Hong Kong Club
Ticket Price: HK$480 for members*, HK$530 for non-members. The first 30 current Columbia students to sign up can also benefit from a discounted price of HK$240.
*To become a member, you must have paid either the annual or lifetime membership fee for 2019.
