The Columbia University Alumni Association (Hong Kong) Limited Annual General Meeting (CUAAHK AGM) will be held on Wednesday, 8th October 2025 at the Hong Kong Club. This year, we are honoured to have a selection of Hong Kong art experts and practitioners to share their experiences in Hong Kong’s art scene, from a diverse point of view.

Dr. Qing Pan (TC ‘07) is the Head of Curatorial Affairs at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, overseeing 21 curators and organizing 10 new exhibitions annually. She earned her doctorate degree from Columbia University in 2007, completing a joint program in art education and art history. Dr. Pan has worked in the museum field for the past 18 years, primarily with national-level museums in China. Prior to joining Hong Kong Palace Museum in 2024 as Head of Curatorial Affairs, Dr. Pan served as chief curator at Beijing’s National Museum of China. She has collaborated with numerous prestigious international institutions, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art NY, Uffizi Gallery in Florence and Museum of Asian Art in Berlin.

Henry Chu is a Hong Kong-based digital artist, designer and programmer. A graduate of the University of Auckland in Electrical and Computer Engineering, his studio pill & pillow has received accolades from Cannes Lions, the Webby Awards, and One Show. Chu’s art harnesses data, music and movement, and has been exhibited at major institutions including MoMA NY (2011), M+ Museum (2020 & 2025), and in a solo exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art (2023). At Digital Art Fair Asia (2021), he presented Blockchain Piano, which allowed visitors to purchase crypto through musical performances.

Galerie du Monde (GDM) is a Hong Kong-based art gallery founded in 1974, the oldest, continuously running art gallery in the city. Managing Director Kelvin Yang has been instrumental in developing GDM as an incubator for emerging and Hong Kong artists engaging with cultural identity, conceptual practices and global perspectives, with a focus championing diaspora and minority artists. The gallery has been acclaimed for its ground-breaking work in championing artists of postwar and contemporary movements such as Hong Kong’s Circle Art Group, and Taiwan’s Fifth Moon.

Henry Woo (SIPA ‘03) completed his doctoral degree in Economics at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2015. He’s been involved with various contemporary art projects since 2011 including in South Korea, China, the Philippines and the UAE.  In 2019 he served as art advisor to the Egyptian Ministry of Culture’s 13th Cairo Biennale’ Organizing Committee, and his curated Korean artist Kim HeeCheon won the Biennale Award. He’s currently working on two contemporary art exhibitions in Egypt and in Italy. Henry Woo has been a member of Columbia School of the Arts Dean’s Advisory Council since 2017.
