About the Speakers

Alexis Abramson

Dean, Columbia Climate School

Alexis Abramson is the Dean of the Columbia Climate School and a Professor of Climate, a position she assumed in January 2025. An expert in sustainable energy technology and advanced energy research, she brings extensive experience in academic administration and strategic leadership. Before joining Columbia, Dr. Abramson served as the 13th Dean of the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College (2019–2024), where she oversaw significant faculty expansion and innovation. Her research has focused on thermal transport and energy efficiency solutions, positioning her as a climate thought leader driving the integration of academic excellence with real-world climate action.

Lisa Sachs

Director, Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment & MS in Climate Finance

Lisa Sachs is the Director of the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (CCSI) and Director of the Columbia Climate School's MS in Climate Finance. A globally recognized expert on investment law, policy, and sustainable development, she has led CCSI's work with governments, multilateral institutions, and civil society organizations worldwide since 2012. Her interdisciplinary approach addresses the alignment of investment flows with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement, with particular focus on how business practices shape climate outcomes. Dr. Sachs holds degrees from Harvard University, Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs, and Columbia Law School.

Danny Lee

Moderator, Managing Partner, VCA Capital

Danny Lee is an experienced investor with over 25 years of global private equity experience spanning venture, growth, and buyout investments. As Managing Partner of VCA Capital, based in Hong Kong, he directs investments for individuals and family offices, with a focus on diversified portfolio management. Previously, Danny was a partner at Blue Pool Capital and held leadership roles at Bain Capital. He has been a supporter of various sustainability initiatives in the region. Mr. Lee is a graduate of Columbia College, Past Vice President and current Advisor to the CUAAHK Board.

  4. CUAAHK members get priority registration. Please check that your membership dues are paid for the current year. If not, please sign up for membership to enjoy this privilege. New membership enrollment successfully completed before January 28th, 2026 is eligible for event member pricing.
  5. Each member may only invite one guest to allow for other members and alumni to participate in the event.
  6. Membership and alumni status will be confirmed upon online RSVP before completion of event registration. All successful registrants will be notified via e-mail by the CUAAHK communications team after registration deadline.
