Hope you are doing well and had a wonderful mid-Autumn and National Day!

Since the weather has been good to us over the last few weeks, let's go hiking! Join us to explore the scenic Lantau trail connecting Mui Wo to Discovery Bay, on Saturday, Nov 21, 2026. 

Meeting Details:

• Meeting Time: Saturday, Nov 21, 2026 10 am (We will start take the 10.30 am ferry, so please be on time)
• Meeting Location: Central Pier No 6
• Duration: 10.15 am – 2.30 pm (excluding return transport and lunch). It would take around 30 min on DB ferry to reach back to the Island.

This will be an easy to moderate hike where we start at Mui Wo Pier, Silvermine Bay and finish at Discovery Bay. En route, we intend to check out Our Lady of Joy Abbey (Trappist Haven Monastery). The hike will take approximately 3 hours. After the hike, we will have options to have a late lunch at Discovery Bay Plaza, which has some great options (recommended Pasha for a great Turkish platter). Lunch is optional and can be swapped with chilled beers or an early return. There is also an option to catch the bus back to Tung Chung from DB, instead of ferry back to Central Pier 3.

Other Notes

• More details will be added to the CUAAHK Hiking Whatsapp Group closer to the day of the hike
• Please wear comfortable hiking shoes, sunscreen and appropriate outdoor gear (hike poles optional). Don’t forget to carry ample water, snacks and cash (~HKD 200 pp).
• As a portion of the hike is an uphill trek, we do not recommend bringing strollers or children under 7 years old.
• Please monitor the weather conditions and prepare accordingly. You can carry a rain poncho to be on the safer side.
