Event Description:
Diancha is the Chinese green tea experience shared amongst literati and poets during the Song Dynasty. It is a cultural experience preceding the Japanese matcha tradition. Please join fellow CUAAHK members and alumni in this hands-on masterclass approach to a historical and well-loved form of a popular beverage.
Each participant will learn the historical background of this tradition, experience the preparation of Song Dynasty style tea and create individual tea art. Diancha is literally a creation of art on the froth of whisked tea powder with the aid of stencils, brushes and other tools. Light tea snacks will be served.
