Dinner with SIPA Director Stephanie von Stein: Career Development, Education and the “State of SIPA”

Join fellow SIPA alumni for an intimate dinner with Stephanie von Stein, director of employer relations at Columbia SIPA, who will be visiting from New York following Ivy Ball. This special gathering will offer a chance to reconnect with the SIPA community, hear updates on career development, education, and the current “State of SIPA,” and engage in meaningful conversation with alumni across generations. With a small group setting, the evening is designed to foster thoughtful discussion, professional exchange, and stronger ties between SIPA and its alumni network in Hong Kong.

Priority: SIPA alumni preferred; a few seats will be reserved for senior alumni who may have jobs and internship opportunities to offer SIPA graduates

Speaker Bio:

Stephanie von Stein, MIA '93, brings over 30 years of experience across global finance, international development, climate change, and sustainable food systems, with a career built on forging partnerships that translate ideas into lasting impact.
She currently serves as director of employer relations at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), where she connects students to opportunities across sectors - from finance and multilateral institutions to climate, biotechnology, human rights, and philanthropy - drawing on a network spanning South and East Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the MENA region.
Prior to SIPA, Stephanie served as director of international engagement at the Good Food Institute, where she led global strategy and partnerships advancing alternative proteins as a climate solution. Earlier roles took her across Asia, Europe, and Latin America in international development, environmental sustainability, and human rights - work she continues through advisory roles in the emerging bioeconomy.
In addition to being a proud SIPA alumna, Stephanie holds an AB in History from Brown University.
