Columbia at Hong Kong Palace Museum: Guided Tour of “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums”

Alumni Exclusive guided tour event at the Hong Kong Palace Museum to view the items in collaboration with seven major Egyptian museums, one archaeological site, the HKPM collection, and one local academic institution featuring over 250 treasures. This magnificent exhibition displays antiques and artifacts spanning 5,000 years is organized into four thematic sections, “The Land of Pharaohs”, “The World of Tutankhamun”, “The Secrets of Saqqara”, and “Ancient Egypt and the World”.

Please join your fellow Columbia alumni in this guided tour of a historic exhibition offered exclusively to CUAAHK during the first month of its launch.

Event Details:

Date & Time: Saturday, December 13th, 2025, 10:30 AM to 12 noon; to be followed by ad hoc casual lunch afterwards if more than 10 people are interested.

Location: Hong Kong Palace Museum, West Kowloon Cultural District, 8 Museum Drive, Kowloon, Hong Kong

Ad hoc lunch venue: To be determined

Meeting Point: Main Lobby, Level G waiting area next to reception desk, right hand side after the x-ray stations;

Capacity: Max 30 people (20 members’, 10 non-members’/guest tickets) 

Price:

  • HK$450 current paid CUAAHK members;
  • HK$320 for current paid member concession tickets (65 years'+ age) and children under 12 years’ age;
  • HK$500 non-member alumni / alumni-invited adult family members and guests;
  • HK$370 for non-member concession tickets (65 years'+ age) and children under 12 years’ age (alumni invited only).

 

* Each ticket includes an English speaking guided tour of “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums” at Gallery 9 with the group starting at 10:30 AM and admission to the thematic exhibitions of Gallery 1-7 at ticket holders’ own convenience during the same day. The “A History of China in Silk: The Chris Hall Collection at the Hong Kong Palace Museum” exhibition located in Gallery 6 is included in the purchased regular admission ticket. Attendees may visit other galleries at their own leisure after the guided tour.

*If attendees wish to visit “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Treasures of the Mughal Court from the Victoria and Albert Museum,” they can do so by purchasing a separate Special Exhibition admission ticket at the kiosks located outside Gallery 8 or at the lobby reception desk if same day tickets are available.

 

Terms & Conditions: 

  1. No refunds for no show. No cancellations or refunds allowed once payment is received. Transfer of purchased ticket(s) is only allowed by request to event organizer Yvette Poon (by WhatsApp to 91726587) up to 48 hours before the start of the event. Non-member /Member/ Concession pricing must be aligned if transferring between different ticket price groups.
  2. Ticket price is inclusive of service charges.
  3. All proceeds go towards future membership programming.
  4. CUAAHK members get priority registration. Please check that your membership dues are paid for the current year. If not, please sign up for membership to enjoy this privilege. New membership enrollment successfully completed before December 10, 2025 is eligible for event member pricing.
  5. Each member may only invite one guest to allow for other members and alumni to participate in the event.
  6. Due to limited capacity, priority is given to current members.
  7. Membership and alumni status will be confirmed upon online RSVP before completion of event registration. All successful registrants will be notified via e-mail by the CUAAHK communications team after registration deadline.
  8. The CUAAHK is not responsible for purchase of souvenirs, additional tickets, or expenses incurred at any food and beverage establishment on the day of event.
  9. Please take care of your personal belongings at all times.
  10. Hong Kong Palace Museum requires all visitors to submit themselves and their personal belongings including smartphones to x-ray inspection before entering the museum.
  11. Please observe all visitor guidelines indicated in the HKPM website and on-site signage.
  12. Please be reminded that large sculptures and artifacts of great historical value are on display throughout the museum. Attendees are reminded to take care not to touch or cause damage to any of the exhibits or decorations.
  13. Small children should be attended to by a responsible adult at all times.
  14. Use of personal information and images will be followed according to Personal Data Privacy Policy guidelines of the HKSAR Government. If attendee does not wish to be photographed, please notify event organizer.
