Interschool Mixer with Cornell and MIT

Join Columbia, Cornell and MIT alumni for an unforgettable evening at Socio, Hong Kong’s leading sustainability and community-focused bar. Founded by industry stalwarts, including Amir Javaid (formerly of Vea and John Anthony), Elton Sherchan (Tiffany’s New York Bar) and Max Bajracharya (Finding Daisy), Socio collaborates with restaurants in the SoHo community to upcycle ingredients to create award-winning cocktails. Socio was recently awarded Best New Bar in SCMP’s Top 100 Tables.

We will be booking out Socio for this interschool mixer with Cornell and MIT. This exclusive mixer offers a unique opportunity to connect with fellow alumni while savoring delicious, community-focused cocktails that promote sustainability.

About Socio

From SCMP’s 100 Top Tables: Socio aims not only to build a community of its own but to leverage the existing one in SoHo. Established by a coterie of industry veterans including Amir Javaid (formerly of Vea and John Anthony), Elton Sherchan (Tiffany’s New York Bar) and Max Bajracharya (Finding Daisy), the Staunton Street neighbourhood spot promotes local ingredients from around Asia-Pacific while also upcycling ingredients sourced from neighbouring restaurants. Take, for instance, the Oyster Shell: said ingredient is sourced from Hooked, a fish and chip shop on nearby Caine Road, and distilled with malt vinegar and vodka to build the base spirit. This is then mixed with aquavit, cardamom bitters and passion fruit, and topped off with sparkling wine for a lip-smacking libation. In terms of fun, relaxed cocktails made with real craft and some truly local ingredients, no one does it better.
