CUAAHK would like to cordially invite you to our next Morningside Salon discussion with Mr. David Yeung, Founder and CEO of Green Monday Group, Asia’s plant-based food leader. Having recently raised a record US$70m in their fourth fundraising round, the largest ever for a Green Food company in Asia, his leadership and vision has captured of minds and mouths of consumers and corporates, alike.

Interest in alternative protein food products have skyrocketed in recent years amidst concerns about food safety and environmental sustainability against the backdrop of African swine fever, climate change, and COVID-19.

David will share with us personal stories of his entrepreneurial journey, from his early days at Columbia, the influences and inspirations which sparked and propelled him onwards despite numerous challenges, and the exciting opportunities he’s pursing with great passion and purpose.

Speaker’s Bio

David Yeung is the Founder & CEO of Green Monday Group, a multi-faceted social venture on a mission to tackle the most pressing crises of our generation: climate change, food insecurity, and public health. 

Mr.Yeung has pioneered a one-of-a-kind integrated platform towards green awareness, action, and economy. His initiatives successfully engage and empower millions of people in both public and private sectors. 

His ventures include the Green Monday Foundation, which set off a global sustainability movement; OmniFoods and OmniPork, which innovates revolutionary food technology; Green Common, which transformed plant-based retail, dining, and distribution markets and networks; and Green Monday Ventures, which gives prominence towards impact investing and charters advancements towards a green economy.    

Mr. Yeung has been awarded “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” by the World Economic Forum and Schwab Foundation. Other honors and recognitions include Fortune’s 2020 “Change the World” Company, “Roddenberry Prize”, “Cathay ChangeMakers 2020”, “Company of the Year 2019” by PETA Asia, “Ten Outstanding Young Persons Hong Kong” and “50 Most Innovative Companies” by Fast Company. 

As a noted environmentalist and entrepreneur, Mr. Yeung has spoken at the World Economic Forum, Milken Institute Summit, TEDx, as well as financial and academic institutions such as UBS and UCLA. Mr. Yeung is a graduate of Columbia University, an Ashoka Fellow and has authored a number of best-selling books on Zen wisdom and mindfulness.

John Hsu, Business School ‘92, CUAAHK’s chair of Entrepreneurship and Morningside Salon events, is passionate about sharing his knowledge in Nutritional Science and Health/Wellness (having read 30+ books on these topics) as well as his experiences investing in the public and private markets, including VC.
