Event Description:

Columbia Alumni Association HK is collaborating with MIT Club HK and Yale Club HK for the 2026 SPCA Flag Day. We’d love to have you, your kids, and furry companions join us! Let's come together for a meaningful mid-summer morning supporting animal welfare and sharing pet care stories!

Team size: 2 volunteers per donation collection bag (individual registrants may join with a friend or we'll pair you with other alumni); Families of 3 - 4 may form one team.

Recognition Award: A special gift for teams that sell an exceptional number of flag stickers.

Event Details:

Date: Saturday July 18, 2026

Time: 9:00 to 11:00 AM

Location: Central Market, Central, Hong Kong

Meeting Point: Gathering & Donation Bag Collection at Tailor Coffee at Central Market

Capacity: Up to 40 people

Price:

This event is free of charge; however each volunteer is expected to donate a nominal amount of $50 or more at registration.
All collected monies will be donated directly to the Society for Prevention of Cruelty of Animals of Hong Kong by the event organizers.

Terms & Conditions:

1. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
2. Individuals may sign up for this event. Organizer will pair up individuals with other individuals to form teams of 2 or more.
3. Interested alumni may sign up with another alumni or friend/colleague/family member for teams of 2.
4. A family group of 3 including young children and pets are welcome. Please advise organizer the ages and relationship of other teammates.
5. All participants are advised to bring their own water bottles and pet cleaning supplies if accompanied by pets.
6. In event of inclement weather, participants may be asked to stay indoors. If Rainstorm Warning or Typhoon Signal 8 is in effect, the event will be cancelled. All collected donations will be donated directly to the SPCA though the organizing team’s arrangements.
7. Organizers may photograph participants during the event. If any participant would like to opt out of official photographs that may be used for alumni newsletter purposes, please notify alumni representative prior to start of the event.
8. All participants are reminded to observe the Columbia Alumni Association Code of Conduct as this is a CUAAHK organized activity. For details please check the CAA website.
9. Your personal data requested for registration is collected in accordance to the Personal Data Privacy Ordinance of the HKSAR for event registration only. The SPCA is the only other entity who may collect the registration details of volunteers not connected to this alumni event. CUAAHK will not share or sell collected information with other third parties.
